An equestrian figure of Catherine the Great dressed in a Saxon general’s uniform, with an Order of the White Falcon, a sabre, and two pistols, on a rearing dapple-grey horse supported by a tree trunk. The purple saddlecloth is decorated with gold, imitating rich embroidery. The gilt rocailles and relief branches on the base decorated overall with vibrant overglaze enamels are reminiscent of the work of J. J. Kaendler from 1770.
